Our yearly fundraising goal will allow Ne’-Na Contemporary Art Space, Annex site located in Mae Rim, Thailand to host two artists for a period of one month.
We plan to reach this goal by requiring all upcoming residents to provide Ne’-Na Contemporary Art Space with at least one completed piece of artwork created during their stay at our residency beginning January 1st 2018. Proceeds from the acquisition and sale of these pieces will go directly toward the grant fund. The artwork will then be added to our collection along with other AIR art to be exhibited at our facility venue. Group shows and sales will be held at ArtMai Gallery Hotel http://www.artmaigalleryhotel.com/ a cutting edge gallery located in the heart of Chiang Mai’s vibrant downtown where the art will be available for the public to purchase.
Futhermore, Mr. Plub Boonsuan a distinguished artist, gallarist art dealer has generously offered to assist in achieving our financial goal by selling the artwork through networking with his extensive list of collectors located throughout southeast Asia and the Pacific region. Mr. Boonsuan will also sit as a member of the selection committee for the residency grant to assist in recipient selection.
Our objective once the monies are raised is to select one international and one Thai artist of all disciplines to receive a residency grant. This grant will consist of a one month paid accommodation at Ne’-Na Contemporary Art Space; Annex site, THB 65000 stipend for international artist and THB 40000 stipend for Thai artist to be used for travel, supplies, food, etc., local transportation, studio use, presentation and exhibition support.
Young artists ages between 25 – 40 year old of all disciplines with a three year proven record of professional artistic activity are eligible and encouraged to apply. In addition former Ne’-Na residents are eligible to submit an application for the grant one year after their residency completion.
More details will be provided once the grant body and policy have been determined.
